Visually Impaired Tennis volunteers

Dear PGC Member

Supporting Inclusive Tennis at Parson’s Green – Volunteers Needed

On behalf of The Queen’s Club Foundation, we are delighted to share an update on the Inclusive Hotspots project now flourishing here at Parsons Green Sports & Social Club.

As the official charity of The Queen’s Club, our mission is simple but powerful: to improve lives through racket sports. In partnership with Middlesex Tennis, we have launched Inclusive Hotspots. A three year initiative designed to enhance social inclusion, health, and community engagement by creating local opportunities for people who face barriers to participation. This includes individuals who are visually impaired, deaf, neurodiverse, experiencing homelessness, or from low income backgrounds.
We are proud that the Visually Impaired (VI) Tennis Hotspot is based right here at your club.

Since its launch this summer, attended by local MPs and the world number 1 visually impaired tennis player, the programme has grown every month. We now host a well-attended session on the second Tuesday of each month (next date is Tuesday 10th February from 8–9pm).

To support player access, we also provide a meet and greet service from Parsons Green Tube Station, ensuring visually impaired players can reach the club confidently and safely. This simple act of support has made a remarkable difference and is one of the reasons the hotspot continues to grow in both numbers and impact.

For the players, these sessions are far more than sport, they are a source of connection, confidence, and community. And for our volunteers, the experience is consistently described as rewarding, meaningful, and enjoyable.
To keep this initiative thriving, we are now seeking additional volunteers to help with both the on court sessions and the meet and greet service. No previous experience with VI tennis is required - just enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to make a genuine difference.

If you are a Parsons Green member who would like to give back locally, we would love to meet you for a coffee at the club, or you can email us at: info@queensclubfoundation.co.uk

Thank you for helping us make tennis accessible for all.
