Coaching update

Dear Members

Thank you to all those who took the time to share their thoughts on the club’s coaching arrangements, whether by completing the survey, attending the consultation session on 15 January, or providing feedback directly. The level of engagement has been greatly appreciated and has played an important role in shaping the Board’s decisions.

The Top Tennis coaching team, structure and booking system will remain the same but there will be more peak time courts available to members and a new social tennis programme is to be launched by the club.

A 12-month transition period.
Having carefully considered the feedback received, the Board has decided to delay the implementation of any major coaching changes for a period of 12 months. This transition period will allow the club more time to reflect on member feedback, further evaluate the coaching options available to us, and ensure that any future decisions are taken with a full understanding of their impact on members and the club as a whole.

Coaching services continue as before with improvements.
The intention during this 12-month period is to keep disruption to a minimum and to ensure that the impact on existing members is limited.

Junior Coaching Programme.
The junior coaching programme will be accessible to members only. This will be accompanied by a significant reduction in the use of peak-time courts for junior coaching (mainly at the weekend), thereby increasing court availability for members.

Private Lessons
There will be no change to the way private lessons are currently run during the transition period.

New Social Tennis Programme
We are excited to introduce a new member paid/ coach-led social tennis programme aimed at broadening opportunities for members to play, improve, and socialise at the club. We will roll out various sessions over the course of the year: rusty racquets, cardio-tennis /doubles drills etc.

Coaching Committee
To ensure members continue to shape coaching at the club, a new coaching committee made up of club members will be established. Several members have already volunteered, and the committee will be chaired by Arnaud d’Hubert. Its role will be to represent the views of all membership groups and to help the club review its coaching service performance, member feedback and options for future improvements.

Member Q&A Session
Members will be invited to an informal Q&A session, at which club directors and coaches will be present to answer questions and discuss the approach being taken. We are committed to maintaining an open and ongoing dialogue with members and to being as transparent as possible throughout this process.

Further details on the Q&A session will be shared shortly. In the meantime, if you have any queries please direct them to the club’s General Manager, Tim Haynes – tim@parsonsgreenclub.com

Thank you again for your continued engagement and support.

Kind regards

The Board
PGSSC
